Virtual Reality is supposedly the brand ‘new’ thing in the world of technology and is catching up quickly. While the smartphone industry is having a war over specifications, the emergence of Virtual Reality couldn’t have been well timed. VR has been here for ages, kid you not! Here is a list of interesting facts about VR which you probably didn’t know.

It’s high time we clear the misconception that Virtual Reality is recent. It’s not! Unlike popular belief VR has been around for ages. While it wasn’t open for the masses initially, but it was the first human experience of VR nevertheless. The first flight simulator that was built back in 1920. This was closely followed with the development of a prototype VR movie viewing experience dubbed the Sensorama in 1962 by Morton Helig.

 

2. Not Everything Will Be Plastic :

Engineering and design are the two main aspects of a virtual reality headset. As this technology is fresh and new and garnering lot of interest amongst the masses, various tutorials about how to make VR headsets even from a cardboard are coming up. This has opened a number of possibilities in the virtual world as people are coming up with creative ways to upgrade the experience offered by VR.

Headache and sickness are some of the problems reported by first time users of virtual reality headsets. This is apparently because their minds are believing that they are moving around, while they are sitting static in a chair or on a couch. However, developers are trying to eliminate this problem as early as possible.

Various industries have been using virtual reality for years. Medical schools around the world have already started using VR technology to help train medical students perform various surgeries. Real estate and construction are two industries that have benefitted a lot. With VR virtual tours, realtors are able to give potential homeowners a look inside a house, even before the house has been constructed.
