Siddharth, a resident from Delhi was taken aback when he was 12 years old because of the Nirbhaya incident. Feeling restless, Mandala created a device called the ElectroShoe. He used social media platforms like Linkedin to connect with mentors and develop this prototype. The more the user walks, the more energy is generated and stored in a rechargeable battery. “All a woman needs to do is ensure that the battery is sufficiently charged. When the shoe makes contact with an attacker’s body, the attacker will be electrocuted,” said the whiz kid.
The Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Kadivam Srihari awarded him with a letter of appreciation for his valiant effort. Mandala’s invention could not have come at a better time!
